Chief Minister Punjab Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi presided over a meeting at CMO today in which the security arrangements of the long march caravan for the Toba Tek Singh route came under a detailed review. CM directed the police and the administrative officials with regard to making best security arrangements of the long march caravan for the Toba Tek Singh route. Asad Umer will lead the caravan of long march from Toba Tek Singh. The long march caravan starting from Toba Tek Singh will reach Jhang, Faisalabad, Jaranwala, Chiniot, other cities and will reach Rawalpindi. The long march being started from Wazirabad will reach Rawalpindi by passing through its fixed route. Chairman PTI Imran Khan will address the participants of the long march by a video link. CM directed to ensure foolproof security arrangements of long march.
He stated that we will also provide best security to the participants of the long march on the Toba Tek Singh route. He apprised that the long march and the route will be monitored through the drone and CCTV cameras adding that the police commandos will be deployed on the roofs of the buildings on the way of the route. CM asserted to make special arrangements in order to maintain law and order on the whole route of the long march adding that the security plan will be ensured to be implemented in letter and spirit. CM directed to make excellent food arrangements for the officials being deputed on duty and stated that the police control room will work 24 hours. He disclosed that the focal persons have been appointed in every district of the route in consultation with the PTI leadership adding that a high-level security will be provided to the political leaders and the participants taking part in the long march.
The CM directed to ensure the usage of bullet proof rostrum and bullet proof shields on the container. He added that the participants of the long march remained peaceful earlier and will remain peaceful now as well. CM asserted that the police and the administration should leave no stone unturned to safeguard the lives and property of the people. CM Pervaiz Elahi directed that all the concerned departments should ensure law and order situation through excellent coordination adding that alternate arrangements should be made to maintain the traffic flow. He directed the coordination committee to hold meetings on daily basis and steps should be taken according to perspective of the situation. CM was given a briefing about the security arrangements being made for the leadership and the participants taking part in the long march of Toba Tek Singh and other cities. Commissioner Sargodha Division, RPOs of Faisalabad and Sargodha divisions, Deputy Commissioners and DPOs of Chiniot, Sargodha, Faisalabad, Toba Tek Singh and Jhang attended the meeting while Deputy Commissioner and DPO Chakwal attended the meeting via video Link.
Meanwhile, Chief Minister Punjab Chaudhry Parvez Elahi has sought a report from RPO Gujranwala about the triple-murder case in the PS Airport area of Majra Kalan in Sialkot and ordered the immediate arrest of the accused persons. He directed that further action should be taken by bringing the accused under the grip of the law and that justice be ensured for the bereaved families. The CM further directed that the best treatment facilities should be provided to the injured.
On the other hand, Chief Minister Punjab Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi and Former Federal Minister Moonis Elahi felicitated the Pakistan Cricket Team for trouncing the New Zealand Cricket Team in the T20 Semi-Final cricket match and reaching the Final of T20 World Cup. CM stated that the national cricket team enhanced the festivities of Iqbal Day by winning the cricket match. CM Pervaiz Elahi and Moonis Elahi remarked well-done for the green shirts and acknowledged the splendid performance of Babar Azam, Rizwan and Haris. They further remarked that due to their excellent batting performance Pakistan Cricket Team reached the T20 World Cup Final and hoped that InshaAllah Pakistan Cricket Team will return to their homeland by winning the T20 World Cup. CM Perviaz Elahi and Moonis Elahi stated that the national cricket players proved to be the Shaheens of Allama Iqbal adding that the Shaheens by winning the Semi-Final match have given most beautiful gift to the nation on the eve of Iqbal Day. CM maintained that undoubtedly no one can withstand against the spirit and enthusiasm being displayed by the Pakistan Cricket Team adding that success is always bestowed by dint of displaying excellent team work. CM acknowledged that the national cricket team players displayed a magnificent sport and clinched the victory.
