Two police personnel were martyred and two others were injured after unknown gunmen attacked the Raghzai Police Station – Tehsil Birmal of South Waziristan tribal district – during early morning hours on Wednesday, police said. The martyred police officials were identified as Hameedullah and Farmanullah. The attackers also stole a vehicle along with government-issued arms and also set a police vehicle on fire. There was an exchange of fire as the police retaliated to the attack, causing fear and panic in the area. A day earlier, two soldiers of the Pakistan Army embraced martyrdom when their convoy came under attack by terrorists in Hassankhel area of North Waziristan tribal district. According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the troops initiated a prompt response, effectively engaged and killed three terrorists. Weapons and ammunition were also recovered from the terrorists. The killed terrorists remained actively involved in terror activities against security forces, the ISPR added.
