KARACHI: Karachi police’s search operations leads to the capture of at least three alleged militants affiliated with proscribed outfits, and trained in Afghanistan.
The Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD) raided Orangi Town, Korangi and Ltari area of Karachi on Saturday morning and apprehended three militants.
CTD SSP Junaid Sheikh said that the militants were identified as Muhammad Aziz, Tauseef Zaheer and Abdul Hafeez.
Police official said that Muhammad Aziz was involved in extortion of money and firing on police officials, Tauseef Zaheer was involved in target killing while Abdul Hafeez used to hide weapons. All three militants got their training in Afghanistan.
The CTD personnel claimed to have recovered four kilograms of explosive material, three grenades, two pistols and several rounds of bullets suspects’ possession.
