ISLAMABAD: The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has directed the parliamentarians to submit their statement of account, along with statement of accounts of their spouses and dependents for the year 2015-16 by September 30. A spokesman of ECP said in a statement that submission is a mandatory requirement under Section 42A of the Representation of the People Act, 1976 and Section 25A of the Senate (Elections) Act, 1975. Members of the Senate, National Assembly and provincial assemblies of Punjab, Sindh, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan are required to submit their account statement to the Election Commission’s Secretariat, he added. Spokesman said that the prescribed forms are available, free of cost, from the Election Commission’s Secretariat in Islamabad and from the offices of the provincial election commissioners. Forms were already sent to the Senate’s Secretariat, National Assembly’s Secretariat and secretariats of all the four provincial assemblies for facility of members. The prescribed forms could be downloaded from the ECP’s website as well.
