ISLAMABAD: Two more children have fallen prey to the polio disease in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, taking the toll to three in the province during the current year.
A private news channel quoting officials of provincial health department said that a seven-month old girl in an Afghan refugee camp set up in Lakhtai Banda of Hangu has been tested positive for polio while the virus has also been confirmed in a two-month old child in Haider Colony in Peshawar.As many as five cases of polio-affected children have so far been reported in Pakistan during the current year, of which two cases have been confirmed in Quetta and Karachi as well.
